It is so nice when the weather becomes warmer and everyone can get outside more! This is a great time of year to help your child notice the signs of spring. Point out, and talk about, all of the changes happening: grass turning green, warmer weather, leaves and flowers starting to bud, spring holidays, changes in clothing, and so much more!
Use descriptive words because that is what can make your child's vocabulary and overall language rich. Use attributes like: colors (green grass, red ladybugs, yellow flowers), how things feel (soft, bumpy, scratchy), weather words (cloudy, windy, bright, gloomy, chilly). Be as creative as you can!
Everything is a learning opportunity and a way to help grow and nurture your child's vocabulary. The more you discuss things, the greater your child's curiosity grows and the more learning that can take place!!
