Wow! What a great turn out for Trunk or Treat! All of the kids looked so awesome in their Halloween costumes and I think everyone went home with a bag full of treats!
Try and make some time in the next few weeks to read to your child as often as you can. Books are the best ways to increase a wide variety of learning and language skills...as well as be a great bonding time as a family.
Make sure when you look at books to think about how you can help your child's learning and language skills grow. Have your child point out objects or actions in the pages. Ask simple questions about the story (What is that boy's name? Where are they going? What do you think is behind that tree? What is going to happen on the next page?) . After you have read a book a couple of times, see if your child can try and 'read' the book to you by telling you some basic information about each page.
