Try to spend the next couple of weeks building your child's ability to follow directions. Give new directions that make your child think a little bit about what you are asking them to do. Give multiple step directions (get your black shoes, take them to your room, and put them in your closet). Give very specific directions and help your child to follow them exactly as you ask and in the right order (if your directions have more than one step).
Practicing this skill at home will build learning and listening skills that can transfer into the school environment. It can also help your home life run a little smoother, too!!!
