It is hard to believe that the holidays are here! So much language surrounds the holiday season and this is a good time to build on your child's vocabulary skills. Have your child name the people (family and/or friends) that your family may see during holiday activities. Talk about where you may go (like grandparent's house, aunt's house, etc.) and talk about who may be there. Help your child notice all of the holiday decorations and name these items.
There are many read aloud holiday books on youtube that are fun to listen to and also provide good opportunities for you to point out vocabulary and for you to be able to build on your child's ability to answer questions about a book read aloud. These are all skills that will help your child now and in preparation for them to grow towards kindergarten.
