We are looking forward to another great Winterfest event happening next Tuesday, December 6th. There will be fun activities for the whole family to enjoy and we hope to see you come and spend the evening with our school family!
This time of year is a good time to help your children describe what they see and hear by using a good variety of attribute language. You can discuss how things look (color, size, shape), how they feel (bumpy, smooth, hot, cold), how they taste (spicy, sweet, sour) or how they sound (loud, soft, pretty). Using description words will increase the depth of your child's language not only when they speak but also when they start to write sentences as they move into kindergarten and first grade. Remember, challenge your child by using a good vocabulary when you speak so he/she can hear those words and then those words should naturally move into his/her vocabulary!
